A walk does the baby good

Today we took Lily for a walk.  Nothing unusual about that, however instead of using her infant carrier and snap-n-go (that she hates) we used the front Infantino carrier.  I have a nice comfy maya wrap sling I use around the house and occasionally out in public, but Cayce insisted on a "manly" font pack carrier.  Now that Miss Lily has pretty much mastered her head control we finally put it to use.

Daddy and Baby ready to exercise (please ignore the redneck gear)

Not two minutes into our trek Lily succumbed to the gentle swaying motion, and was lulled to sleep in the crotch dangler.  We continued our merry way, and enjoyed this beautiful South Carolina evening.  Many families in our neighborhood were out sharing in Memorial Weekend festivities. We passed one Dad hooking up an inflatable pool to an air compressor, children excitedly running wild in the front yard in swimming trunks and bathing suits.  Another family was sitting around the grill, languidly sipping from cold drinks and waiting for dinner to cook.  We could spy a rowdy bunch hollering and squealing in and around a large above ground pool  in the back yard.  On our way back we passed the inflatable pool bunch, and were quite surprised to see the contraption was not merely a pool but an AWESOME tall water slide/pool toy complete with sprayers and moving parts.  Those kids were having a blast!  (I was a bit jealous)  We enjoyed our walk, the families, the hydrangeas in the yards in full bloom, and the sweet honeysuckle in the air.  I love thinking of the time in the future when as a family with Lily we will be able to celebrate the start of summer with those traditional pool and grilling activities.  While I was wistful in my daydream Lily slumbered on in Daddy's arms.... reminding me to enjoy her every day in every way.  We'll get to those days, but just now she's a pure joy, and I can't wish these precious days away.  I mean who could not enjoy this baby?

After the walk.  Yes, she's alive.
